Something on the dreamy side. Eve's young in Alola, pretty paradise.

This song captures some of the disorientation and unpleasantness of how foster care was... It's very artificial and disjointed, unstable. Near the end (4:30") there's even some screams of pain.

I wanted something that had a flat, overcast, "every day is the same and I don't think it'll get any better" feel. Note the disjointed vocals and how much sheer repetition there is. You can also view the "funding for this program was made possible by--" lyrics as a reflection of the foster care system and how the whole of Alola is responsible for maintaining it, and by extension, responsible for Eve's continued misery. The accusatory "viewers like-- you." is an especially nice touch.

Math/prog rock on an electric guitar is the sound that represents Eve's inner self the most.

The sound shift at (2:51") to (3:32") is a foreshadowing of future sounds that'll be associated with Eve's eventual chosen profession

Also, the "how does that make you feel?" vocal tidbit is a nice touch when invasiveness of his emotions is part of Eve's trauma.

Madame Corinthia finds herself a young, rough-edged killer she knows she can polish into something incredible... Her influence is incredible and Eve finds a mentor he can rely on, respect, and learn from.

(meta: I love how the 4 note sequence that plays throughout this song (you can hear it in the very beginning) is an echo/offset of the 4 note sequence in the previous song, just in a more dissonant key... :) it symbolizes Cory's influence on Eve as he improves and grows into himself.

Eve's really past the point of no return here he's growing monstrously under Corinthia's tutelage.

I wanted a taste of that hard electronic again (representing Eve's work as a killer). This one's got a full, laid-back confidence to it B) and the gun cocks and sharp-knife sounds add a nice touch since this is Eve we're dealing with here.
